The shareholders of Intelligent Research in Sponsoring GmbH have appointed Simon Fink as Managing Director with effect from 1 January 2021.
Karlsruhe, 01.01.2021 As of 01.01.2021, Simon Fink has assumed the position of Managing Director of Intelligent Research in Sponsoring GmbH, and will thus manage the Karlsruhe-based company together with the founders and managing partners, Peter Weber and Christian Riedle. With this decision, IRIS GmbH is continuing to shape the future direction of the company, which was founded in 2014. The 36-year-old sports economy graduate joined the company in 2017 and initially took over the management and further development of business operations in the role of Chief Operating Officer, and since April 2019 has been part of the Executive Board.
Simon Fink has vast experiences in the fields of sponsorship research and consulting. Entering the industry with roles at Sport+Markt and later Repucom (now Nielsen Sports), where he first worked alongside Peter Weber and Christian Riedle, he went on to gain valuable further industry experience at DO IT! – the sponsorship strategy and activation agency. With this company from 2013, Simon rose to the role of Client Services Director, working in both international client consulting and in personnel management.
"I am very much looking forward to my next step with this exciting and challenging role, which will focus on successfully further developing IRIS GmbH as a sustainable, leading independent provider of individual and qualitative sponsorship research. My special thanks go to the IRIS shareholders, the management, our employees and our clients, who have made this personal, yet also collaborative, journey possible".
Said Peter Weber/Christian Riedle:
"We are delighted that Simon Fink, a long-term, reliable and dependable colleague, is joining the IRIS management team. Simon brings to the IRIS board a deep understanding of the industry, a unique ability to build long-standing relationships with clients, and proven experience in driving change.
